I never complained through my illness so why have some people hijacked my suffering to soak up the sympathy and play the victims ? I WAS SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST A TUMOUR

WHY ?

It’s the same insensitive actions that made me sack Liam’s mother from my wedding planning.

Overpowering and insensitive.
Especially as I was terminally ill and  5 weeks away from my own funeral.

How did Liam‘s mother have the nerve to say “I’ve had my eye on a coffin at the funeral parlour that we can get cheap and paint pink “ 24 hours before I passed .

I made my last wishes very clear to Liam and my family.

( Unfortunately my wishes have not  been honoured yet )

As a family we spoke so much about raising awareness about tumours and the early signs, which unfortunately at the start of this journey we knew so little  about.

As a family we spoke so much about raising awareness about tumours and the early signs, which unfortunately at the start of this journey we knew so little  about.
From Sophie‘s  teenage years she   spent so much time feeling nauseous  and believing she would be sick, but rarely was. Sophie was constantly  back and forth to the doctors finally being sent to CAHMS, who believed that she was borderline anorexic. They said she would have to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital if she didn’t put on weight within two weeks. She battled with this and managed to soldier on, though not realising it  was  in  fact the start of her tumour growing.  This  was  not  discovered until she was 20. Tough teenage years, but she tried so hard not to play the victim despite really really struggling at times.

So why are some people still using her illness and death to gain sympathy for  themselves, and disrespecting her in the process?  Perhaps  co-dependence?

Anyone who knew Sophie would know her mantra well  “What Sophie wants Sophie gets. “ She would now certainly want answers.
How have Sophie's sisters been deprived of  what she wanted for them?

Why did they leave Sophie unwashed and uncared for at their funeral home for 5 days before we, as her parents intervened. We arranged for Sophie to be moved, even though they warned us not to take Sophie to any other funeral home in their chain, as she wouldn’t be welcome.

Why, when we sent a letter of complaint about Sophie’s treatment whilst in their care, did they call the police saying that we had to retract our complaint ? (The police confirmed we had done nothing wrong, and advised us to  pursue our complaint through the complaints procedure.)

Why did Liam not want to give Sophie the  send-off they had discussed on so many occasions?

Why did Liam refuse to follow Sophie on her final journey, saying he did not want to follow her for an hour behind her horse-drawn carriage? Instead he waited at the chapel whilst Sophie  took her final journey through Brighton and Hove with her family by her side.

Why did Liam reject the offer of flowers spelling WIFE  on Sophie’ s coffin. He decided instead  to leave a small wreath at the chapel.  Sophie wanted everyone who saw her final journey to know that she was Sophie, a sister, a daughter and a wife, all spelt out in beautiful flowers, WIFE was declined, even though we offered to buy this on Liam’s behalf. Is this the act of a caring husband of but 19 days?

Why have I, her father had to suffer death threats for simply trying to respect Sophie’s wishes?

Why did Liam reject our offer of a ring with Sophie’s ashes in, so she would be with him for evermore?

We are still awaiting answers one year on.
